What is #TNI?

If you follow any travelers on twitter you’ve probably seen the #TNI hashtag. #TNI stands for Traveler’s Night In. It’s a series of 10 questions about different travel related topics. The weekly #TNI creates a great list of new ideas, travel recommendations and travel opinions from across the globe, so get involved!

How #TNI Works

10 travel related questions are posted on Thursdays at 3:30EST via twitter. Anyone can join the conversation by tweeting their answers with the #TNI hashtag in their post. The questions are staggered but users usually identify the question their answering by including the question number:
@ZipSetGo writes: “Q3: What is your favorite hostel? #TNI”
@gtrot writes: “A3: The Flying Pig is the best hostel in Amsterdam #TNI.”

It’s as simple as that! If you’re not on twitter you can still follow the conversation using TweetGrid and seaching #TNI.

Want to learn more about #TNI?

Check out a great weekly TNI recap by @adventurouskate on her blog Adventurous Kate.

Give us about two months to finish development.  Sign up here and follow us on Twitter (@gtrot) – we’ll let you know just as soon as we go live.

In the meantime, we’ll be blogging regularly to introduce our team, update you on our progress, give you specifics about the site, and solicit your advice.

We’ll also have guest bloggers posting about their summer travels in Europe, South America, Asia, and everywhere in-between.  These gtrotters will give you the inside scoop on must-see places for college students, along with their craziest travel stories.  We’ve even got some traveling pairs who will debate the big issues:  plane vs. train, careful planning vs. spontaneity, Rome vs. Venice, Prado vs. Louvre.

Happy gtrotting!
